Condoms from My Lubie, Amor, Primeros and other brands recalled in France over a risk of breaking. How to check your box on RappelConso, and where to go if you have already used them

On 30 October 2026, RappelConso, the French government site for recalls of dangerous products, published recall notices for condoms from several brands at once. That day the site's home page lists releaf, einhorn, My Lubie, Primeros, you+me, Amor, R&S and one more brand. The notices all give the same reason: a risk of sexually transmitted infections (IST in French) and unwanted pregnancy. They name the same manufacturer, Richter Rubber Technology Sdn. Bhd.

According to franceinfo, the recall follows an investigation by the DGCCRF, the consumer protection authority. It covers 15 models with a manufacturing defect that can make the condom split or leave it with a hole. Around 7 million units are involved across the EU, and only some of them were sold in France. The outlet also reports that users had already reported breakages after an earlier recall.

What the notices say

The My Lubie and Amor notices state:

  • where they were sold: online shops and physical stores, across the whole of France;
  • what to do: stop using the product and contact the shop where you bought it;
  • compensation: no specific method is given; the notice points to its additional information instead;
  • the Amor notice marks the recall as imposed by a prefectoral order (arrêté préfectoral).

For My Lubie the recalled model is "ultra fin"; for Amor it is the preventivo feelings, Joydivision super thin 53 and naked tested & rolled models. The recall covers specific batches, not every box of a brand.

How to check your box

  1. Find the brand, the model name and the batch number (lot) on the pack; the expiry date is usually printed next to it.
  2. Go to rappel.conso.gouv.fr and type the brand into the search box, or browse the "Hygiène-Beauté" category.
  3. Compare the batch number with the table in the notice. For example, My Lubie "ultra fin" lists 11 batches, from 2rri0089 to 5rri1234; Amor lists batches 5312, 5526, 5641, 5661, 5662 and 6044.

If it matches, the product should not be used: take the box back to the shop, or contact the seller if you bought it online.

If you have already used them

The notices themselves recommend STI testing at a medical laboratory and, if a period is late, a pregnancy test. For questions, they point to your médecin traitant or a CeGIDD centre.

How testing works, according to sante.fr (published 5 June 2024):

  • HIV testing is free in any laboratory, with no prescription and no appointment, at any age;
  • chlamydia, gonorrhoea, syphilis and hepatitis B can also be tested in a lab without a prescription; free under 26, and from 26 the health insurance reimburses 60%, with the rest covered by a complémentaire santé;
  • with a prescription from a doctor or midwife, these tests are free at any age;
  • at a CeGIDD (free testing and diagnosis centre), testing is free.

Emergency contraception: the clock is in hours

If a condom has only just split, tests are not the only question. According to service-public (checked 29 June 2026):

  • the pill is sold in pharmacies without a prescription; levonorgestrel works up to 72 hours after sex, ulipristal acetate up to 120 hours (5 days); the sooner the better, and neither is 100% effective;
  • for adults, the health insurance covers 100% on presentation of a carte Vitale, an AME card or an attestation de droits; minors get it free and anonymously;
  • people without health cover can get it free at a centre de santé sexuelle or a CeGIDD.

That last point matters for newcomers who do not yet have a carte Vitale.

How to report a breakage

The recall notices give an address for reporting an adverse health event, including a condom that split or was perforated: signalement.social-sante.gouv.fr.

What RappelConso is and why it is worth knowing

RappelConso is a shared site run by four government directorates (DGAL, DGCCRF, DGEC and DGPR) that publishes recalls of dangerous products, with categories for food, babies and children, hygiene and beauty, and cars and transport. It is updated every hour, the home page shows the 500 most recent recalls, and there is a search box and category browsing. When a recall makes the news, it is the first place to look: it shows exactly which batches are affected and what to do.
